A stranger looks down on me
A vague look in his eyes is what I see
He looks familiar but can’t place
The man that belongs to this face

I close my eyes the reflection is gone
Thinking where have I gone wrong
What happened to the man I used to know
Or was he just a show

Is the man in the mirror really me?
Or is my true self not been set free?
I walk away, away from the reflection
I seek my friends for more direction

Hearing words of comfort and understanding
By my side they will keep standing
Here for me always till the day
“I’m myself again” is what I’ll say

Feelings can be such a pain
For they can make you insane
But I will overcome
My true self will be strong

One day soon I will see
The stranger smiling back at me
No more vagueness in his eyes
Just joy and pleasant surprise
