A sad end in sight
I always knew
Ever since I was a kid
Ever since you held my hand
Watched me play in the sand
I always knew
I’d die later than you
That truth is now gettin’ clearer
We can’t deny your end gettin’ nearer
It’s hard for me to see
This man at who I sat on his knee
Sick and fighting
Yet making his life worth
After hearing sad word
Not giving up
Your body fighting as always
But not to protect us, as before
Grandpa I always knew
I’d die later than you
I wish the day will not come for goodbye
But you now sick makes it impossible to deny
Your end is getting nearer
To me now sadly it’s getting’ clearer
You are the strongest man around
And you being my grandpa makes me proud
